Lead Teacher/ Owner

MISS KELSEY

My joy of working with children started when I was young and growing up in my mother’s childcare center. I began working in centers at a young age and continued throughout college while working as a nanny for families in the summers. My passion for preschool grew from there. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education and Anthropology from the University of Oregon in 2011. I've lived in Spain, Germany and Ecuador working with American military families as well as teaching English to students of all ages. After my time abroad, I worked in numerous programs around Portland in schools that follow a large range of philosophies. This diverse background has helped form my own teaching philosophy and bring what I consider the best of each into my own program with the biggest focus being PLAY. After running my own successful Certified Family Child Care program for two years in Southwest Portland, I closed the doors to relocate to Eugene, Oregon with my husband. I enjoy reading, being on the river, yoga, and camping. I love bringing my interests and joys into the classroom and hope to have children and families do the same!

Co- Teacher

MISS BRYTON

Hello families! My name is Miss Bryton and I am beyond excited to connect with you and your children! Here are some little facts about me to help get to know me a bit better:

  • I have been a Lead teacher for a little less than 2 years, a nanny for over eight years and am about to receive my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education! I’ve made Early Childhood Education a primary focus in my life as it is something that I dearly love.

  • I go to school part-time and have a 5 acre homesteading farm in my free time!

  • Nature and permaculture are very important to me, and I love incorporating these practices into the classroom!

  • I plan our curriculum around self awareness, feeling connected to our classmates/surroundings/environment, learning about emotions, practicing life skills such as sharing and patience, and helping develop their relationship to the natural environment as well (which builds self esteem and happiness overall!)

  • I incorporate a lot of non-objective art projects, sensory and fine motor play, group activities and independent play that encourages mathematics, science and critical thinking skills.

Substitute Teacher

MS. SIMONE

Hi, I'm Ms Simone! I'm brand new to Oregon from Texas but I'm far from new to childcare. I have over 20 years of experience working with children and 4 years of experience teaching in pre-schools. I have a bachelors in Psychology from the University of Texas where I focused heavily on development and the effects of education on social attitudes. This summer I will be entering the UOTeach program to obtain a master's degree in Elementary Education. I love connecting with kids and families, fostering a love of learning, and encouraging social emotional growth. When I'm not teaching or in classes myself I love exploring nature with my dog, going to local shows to support live music, and binging the latest Netflix shows. I'm so happy to be here and I can't wait to get to know your family!
